About Me

Learn more about me!

Hello! My name is Abigail.

I am 22 years old, and I am studying Political Science at Brigham Young University.

I have lived in a lot of different places, but I claim Idaho as my home. No need to be open-minded about my time in Idaho, I grew up in a stereotypical small farming town that primarily grew potatoes. My high school’s mascot was the Mighty Russet, and we had two weeks off of school in the fall to help the farmers harvest their potatoes.

I love to spend time abroad and learn languages. In high school, I spent time in Beijing learning Mandarin, and after high school, I was an au pair in Spain. Some of my best memories are visiting my German cousins and learning more about my family’s German heritage. As a poor college student, I continue my international curiosity through Netflix. Some of my favorite series are:

After I graduate, I hope to visit Cuba and Russia.

I am very passionate about public lands. I work as a research assistant for different projects dealing with international and domestic land issues. I am interested in indigenous land issues, water rights disputes, and public land protection issues. I received my two-year degree from BYU-Hawaii with an emphasis in Pacific Island Studies, and I grew up near a Native American reservation. I hope to someday work in conflict resolution or public policy to help resolve some of the intergenerational issues.

As well, I am a strong advocate for animal rights. I love dogs, and I currently have two dogs. My first dog, Tortilla, or as I affectionately refer to as abuelita, is a chihuahua. My other dog, Scout, is a six-month-old American Eskimo. I love training my dogs and teaching new tricks. After I get my own home, I plan to foster dogs to help teach them basic manners so that they may be adopted by loving families.
